The SMSC is excited to announce the following junior football coaching appointments…
- Under 14’s – Ryan Tierney and Ryan Lambert
- Under 16’s – Rob Morgan
- Under 18’s – Jeff Blow
All appointments come with a wealth of experience that will prove invaluable for our club with their priority being the development of our junior footballers.
In terms of official training dates:
- The under 14’s will officially commence on Tuesday the 07th of March from 4:30pm at the precinct.
- The under 16’s will officially commence on Tuesday the 07th of March from 4:30pm at the precinct, however there will be additional sessions that commence prior to this which will be confirmed by Rob Morgan in the coming week. Rob will contact participants regarding this.
- The under 18’s will officially commence this Thursday the 09th of February from 5:00pm at the precinct.
We will also be announcing the appointments of under 10’s and 12’s coaches in the coming week so please stay tuned for further updates.
Also in further exciting news, the SMSC will be conducting a junior football registration and participation day on Saturday the 04th of March from 9am at the precinct. We will have special guest Brendan McCartney from Player Coach present on the day. “Having coached from the grassroots to AFL clubs; Richmond, Geelong, Essendon, Western Bulldogs and Melbourne, Brendan prides himself on teaching and developing players in all aspects of the game”.
Brendan will be running some development sessions with our junior coaches and players which will be used as a platform for the club’s junior development program.
