To all South Mildura Sporting Club Members, Players, and Supporters.
The following statement is made regarding the coaching tenure of Luke Sicker.
Luke has made the decision to step away from coaching. The decision by Luke has not been an easy one to make but it is one he feels is in the best interests of himself, his young family, and the club. Luke’s intentions were always to be a playing coach for the SMSC and since Lukes’s injury early in the season, he believes that he has not been able to fulfil this role to the standard he sets himself on and off the field. Lukes’s professionalism in his time with the club has been outstanding and he has gained the respect of the playing group, supporters, and members.
The club wishes Luke, Shantelle, and their young family nothing but the best for the future. Luke and his family will always be welcome at the club and we look forward to seeing their girls grace the netball courts for the SMSC.
The club will continue to support Luke and his family into the future. The club fully supports the decision made by Luke and we ask that you to respect the privacy of Luke and his family regarding this decision.
Moving forward the club has appointed Tyler Curtis and Warrick Campbell as interim senior co-coaches and Dom Fotia as senior assistant coach for the remainder of the 2023 season. Warrick, Tyler, and Dom are committed to the continued development of our young playing group and are looking forward to the remainder of the season.
